My Mission:

To challenge academics and hard charging individuals to continually grow in all facets of life.

My Vision:

ad Profectus aims to cultivate an environment of learning, development, and growth to serve a community of hard charging individuals through the synthesis of scientific literature into actionable, applicable outcomes.

The only thing that is promised is death. Making TIME the most valuable commodity we have. Let's take advantage of our time, by making it fulfilling. Whether that's through crushing it at your job, developing relationships, completing physical feats, or becoming fiscally independent. ad Profectus is here to help you relentlessly pursue and obtain your goals while maintaining health.

Principles of Growth:

ad Profectus aims for YOU to become a master of your own world. There are six major things (principles), that if you focus on them, will point you in the right direction to accomplish whatever it is that drives you. These Principles for Growth are guideposts that should help aid your decisions, and are designed to get you to your goals while maintaining balance in other aspects of life.

#1 - Optimize Sleep, Nutrition, and Exercise

Sleep, nutrition, and exercise set the base for how high we can reach. All three work together to promote a healthy mind, and body, which will allow you to absorb stress better. The more stress you can absorb the harder you can push yourself, and the more you can accomplish.

#2 - Focus on Big Rocks

80% of results come from 20% of inputs. This law known as the 80/20 principle or Pareto Principle dictates that you can gain most of the benefit of something through only a fraction of the inputs. In order to truly optimize life and continue to accomplish tasks, it is important to identify the major big rocks that will give you 80% of results. After which you can start to choose where it is acceptable to focus only on this 20% (most of life), and where it is important to push further to gain more.

#3 - Control What You Can

Hard charging individuals, myself included, waste a lot of time thinking about things that are out of their control. This leads to considerable anxiety and worry about things that do not come to pass - and can lead to paralysis by analysis. Focusing on what you can control will allow you to continue to push forward by concentrating on what you can do in any situation.

#4 - Be True to Yourself

"Philosophy teaches us to act, not to speak; it exacts of every man that he should live according to his own standards, that his life should not be out of harmony with his words, and that, further, his inner life should be of one hue and not out of harmony with all his activities."

- Tao of Seneca, Vol 1, Tim Ferris

#5 - Motivation Follows Action

When feeling unmotivated to accomplish a task, just start. The starting of a task, just like the rolling of a ball down a hill is the most challenging part. Once the ball gets rolling, motivation and momentum will follow, allowing for a sense of accomplishment that comes with finishing a task.

#6 - Do Not Fear Failure

Be curious, try things. Learn from failure and admit mistakes.

The greatest learning opportunities come from failure and challenge. If you embrace the process of learning, and do not fear failure you will be able to push yourself further than you ever expected and accomplish things many could only dream of.
